May 10, 2012 | Police Unity Tour
Law enforcement officers participating in a 250 mile bicycle ride from Portsmouth, VA to Washington, DC – will arrive in Urbanna on Thursday, May 10th at approx. pm. Riders will stop on the Urbanna Bridge to remember a fellow officer killed in the line of duty, then proceed to the firehouse for a scheduled break. This group is part of over 1,000 law enforcement officers from around the world who will converge in Washington, DC on May 12th for Law Enforcement Memorial Week. The community is invited to the firehouse to meet these courageous men and women as they “ride for those who have died”. |

November 2 and 3, 2012 | Urbanna Oyster Festival
Friday: 9am to Midnight
Saturday: 9am to 6pm
Virginia’s official oyster festival. Over 75,000 visitors come to walk around one of the nation’s oldest seaports, sampling oysters, seafood and other tasty regional specialties, taking in music and waterfront exhibits and snapping up funky novelty items and fabulous finds like hand-knit sweaters at bargain prices and one-of-a-kind arts and crafts. Highlights include Friday night’s Firemen’s Parade (7pm), Saturday’s Virginia State Oyster Shucking Contest (11am) and the right-out-of-Norman-Rockwell Oyster Festival Parade (2pm). |

Festivities start at the Fire House at 4:30pm with good food provided by the Woman's Auxilery. At 7pm the Mayor cuts the ribbon and the parade begins. After the parade children are invited to the free Santa Party. Family fun for all! |

Tickets will be $15 in advance and $20 the day of the tour. The ticket sales center is located at Urbanna United Methodist Church on Marston Avenue with box lunches and
free shuttle service.
