Urbanna Family Friendly Events
How did such a small town get such a big reputation? The Urbanna Oyster Festival, of course. Virginia's official oyster festival hosts 75,000 visitors in the fall. We have a juried art show, a holiday house tour, concerts in the park, street parades, boat parades, and a monthly farmer's market, too. Throw your own party in an English garden, on the waterfront, in a pocket park or at an historic site. Get down and boogie in Urbanna, Virginia.

The Urbanna Chili Plunge and Cook-Off is FREE to everyone!
All chili chefs are invited to enter the Chili Cook-Off contest. There will be 2 divisions, Amateur and Professional.
Amateur Division
This division is open to all. Visitors to the cook off can taste the variety of chili available and vote for the amateur chili they like best. Prizes, along with bragging rights, will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place.
Professional Division (restaurants)
A panel of 3 judges will determine the best chili with cash and prizes awarded to 1st ($100), 2nd ($50) and 3rd ($25) places. We encourage all contestants to get creative and “dress up” their booths to add even more fun to the festivities and to draw people to your booth.
The cook-off is being held at 213 Virginia St (Something Different’s parking lot) with beer garden and music. Enjoy your favorite beverage while tasting some of the best chili in the region. It’s February so this event is rain or shine, cold or hot.
